We’re thrilled about all the great things Autumn brings! From falling leaves and visiting farmers markets, to picking pumpkins and enjoying cozy cooking, there’s so much to look forward to! This October, why not join the Sonoma County Farmers on the Farm Trail tour? It’s a fantastic way to meet more of our local producers. Oh, and have you tried the amazing caramels from Sebastopol’s Little Apple Treat farm or Ugar House Candy? They’re seriously delicious!
Meet your farmers and buy directly from the source. Experience tours, tastings, and educational activities. Pick pumpkins, apples, flowers, and see farm animals. Attend workshops and demos on ranching, beekeeping, pollinator gardening, floral design, cheesemaking, and soap making. There will even be a pumpkin trebuchet! Sign up to start planning your autumnal agrarian adventure.
We recently tried caramels from Little Apple Treats and WOW they are good! Apples grown on their Sebastopol farm are used for juicing, dried for treats, and turned into syrup for caramels. They ferment the juice for a year in French oak wine barrels to make an array of delicious and unique apple cider vinegars and shrubs. This is our new go-to local source for gift giving!
Ugar House Candy is another local caramel company we love! Made in small batches with quality ingredients sourced locally and made from a tried and true family recipe, Ugar House Candy is crafting uniquely flavored caramels like Vanilla Chai and Black Licorice. You can find them at the Barlow in Sebastopol every third Sunday of the month from 11-4, or shop anytime on their website.
You may have noticed home décor trends are warming up this year with an abundance of rich colors, warm woods, and cozy textures. Heritage patterns are back, and they are finding a place on walls and curtains. To get a cozy look in your own home, designers advise ‘color drenching’ by painting walls and trim the same color. Incorporate patterns with wallpaper, especially in small spaces, like a bathroom. Follow the link below for more fall trends!
